Ada Watie

Ada Watie, daughter of John T. and Anna (Livers) Adair, was born June 21, 1925 in Stilwell, OK and departed this life on December 28, 2016 in Stilwell, Ok at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 7 days.

She was a very loving wife, Mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading her bible and Cherokee music. She was a member at Salem Baptist Church, an avid prayer warrior and a member of WMU for many years. Her most important lesson to her family was to Love the Lord with all your heart and that she had ran a good race and fought a good fight. She often reminded her family to give all their worries to the Lord. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Dave Watie, siblings; Lynch Glass, George Glass, Lucy Swake, 2 sons; Delmar Watie and Jackie Watie.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Stanley Watie, of Stilwell, Ok, Ida Meachem, Lenora Goombi and husband Gary of Endora, KS, Sundown Watie and wife Joanna, Phil Watie and wife Shela both of Stilwell, OK, daughter in law; Dora Mae Watie, Sister; Leona Bird of Stilwell, Ok, grandchildren; Sonya Cochran and husband Martin, Elkeena Wind and husband Daniel, Verlita Watie and fiance Kenny Duncan, Kelly Meachem and fiance Megan Levanduski, Sundown Watie Jr and wife Mandy, Sky Watie, Shayna Watie, Jennifer Harold and husband Jake, Joshua Watie, Jade Watie, William Watie, Marcy Vanderment and husband Ryan and Lauren Goombi. special nieces, Viola Fourkiller, Mary Duncan, Ida Seaton, several nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016 Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel with Bro. Phil Watie officiating. Interment followed at Salem Cemetery Stilwell, Oklahoma.
