Alvasta Jones

Alvasta Jones, daughter of Fletcher A. and Zora Mae Frazier Reed, was born on September 22, 1921 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and departed this life on January 7, 2010 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma at the age of 88 years, 3 months and 15 days. Alvasta was a good friend to many in the Stilwell community. She married Robert Biff Jones in Mexico in 1954. They were blessed with 49 years of marriage. Alvasta will be remembered for her volunteer work as a Foster Grandparent and she enjoyed the time spent with all of her foster grandchildren. She also worked as a Dietary Supervisor for retirement homes. Alvasta leaves behind many friends and loved ones who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fletcher and Zora Reed, husband: Robert Biff Jones in 2003, sons: Roberts S Ford, William Ford and sister: Theta Lankford. She is survived by her children: Richard Ford of Milwaukie, WI, James A. Jones of Huntington Beach, CA, Cynthia Hunt and husband Steve of Broken Arrow, OK, sisters: Mary Jesperson of Reno, NV, Ruth Keys of Reno, NV, grandchildren: Rick Kornfeld of Australia, Ryan Jones of Huntington Beach, CA, James Ford of Chicago, IL, Gene, Gina Ricky Ford of Milwaukie, WI, Spencer Baylee Hunt of Davis, OK, several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 11, 2010 at RobertsReedCulver Funeral Chapel with Bro. Terry Hall officiating. Interment followed at Ketcher Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
