Annetta Sue Roye, 78, of Stilwell, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday February 12, 2023. Sue was born in Stilwell, Oklahoma to Euladean and Wren Worley on February 23, 1944. She married Ross J. Roye on August 31, 1973, in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Sue attended school in Stilwell graduating from Stillwell High School. She also graduated from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She was a teacher for 30 years retiring from teaching at Stillwell Middle School in 2003. Sue was a Christian and she was Cherokee. Sue was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and soon to be great grandmother. She could be fierce in her protection of her family and friends and smothering in her love. Sue was a passionate woman her entire life putting her whole self into her family, hobbies, and work.

She loved having her children and grandchildren near her. For the last 26 years she has been consumed with loving her grandchildren. They were the spark in her day when she saw them whether it was on face time or in person and she would always try to send bags of goodies with them when they left her house.

Sue loved to quilt and has made hundreds of quilts in her lifetime for loved ones and friends, for special occasions, holidays, or just because she was thinking of someone. She also had a cookie or a cake ready for any visitors who might drop by. Sue would also scrapbook for her family and friends. Pulling together the memories of people she loved and arranging them into large books that covered a lifetime helped her stay young.
