Beatrice Saul

Beatrice Sue Saul was born December 28, 1933 and died November 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Stan Watie and Mary Bunch Adair; seven siblings Watie, Myrtle, Joe, Samuel, Sadie Springwater, Bill, and Virginia Hodge.

Sue attended Seneca Indian School (Wyandotte, OK) in her youth and graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1952. She was very proud of her Cherokee heritage and education. After graduation, she moved to Tulsa, OK and began work as a telephone operator. There she married Clayton Saul, eventually creating a family of five children. While her family was young there were multiple moves between OK and TX. Sue operated her own restaurant and held many part-time jobs during these years as an expression of her independence and support of her family. In 1976 Sue struck out on her own returning to Tulsa, enrolling in Tulsa Community College earning her certification as a dental assistant.

She began her career at Claremore Indian Dental Clinic in April 1978. Shortly afterwards, she met Charles (Chuck) Reesman, her life partner, who preceded her in death August 2017. Her 21year tenure as a pediatric dental assistant brought her great joy. She developed many lifelong friendships with her colleagues. She retired from Claremore at the age of 65 and continued working in the dental field for several more years for Tulsa area dentists before retiring again.

Sue had a wide range of interests from politics and world events to gardening and painting. She loved OU Sooner football. She enjoyed bowling, shuffleboard and darts. She and Chuck also enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Sue loved her children, family and friends. She is survived by her children Kelly Saul, Kimberly Saul, Karen Malone, Dana Meehan and Donna Pass; her three grandchildren Saul Malone, Rachel Malone and Kristopher Saul; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and loved ones.
