Beverly Jean Carpenter, daughter of Lawrence and Eva Tapp Stunkard was born March 6, 1936 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on December 12, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 9 months and 6 days. She had a great love for crafts and enjoyed doing needlepoint and crocheting. She loved playing bingo during her stay at the nursing home. In her younger years she loved skating, ice skating and bowling. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of the Wagoner Church of God. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Eva Stunkard, 1 son Rodney French, 1 brother Lawrence Charles Stunkard, infant sister Noretta Stunkard, and 2 husbands. Cone French and Willard Shorty Carpenter. She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children Donald Vangorden and companion Marilyn Young, Richard Vangorden all of Wagoner, OK, Connie Vangorden Hammer of Rogers, AR, Dianna Vaughan and husband Dennis of Stilwell, OK, 1 brother Randall Stunkard and girlfriend, Lorie Merida of Troy, IL, 1 sister Linda Ritter and husband Bob of Stilwell, OK, Special Friend John Guinn of Westville, OK. 5 grandchildren, Crystal, Brandy, Aaron, Danny, and Amy. 7 great grandchildren several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her. Funeral services were held, Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the RobertsReedCulver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Von Wald and Bro. Audie Vaughan officiating. Interment followed in the Stilwell City Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
