Beverly Sue Patterson, daughter of Doyal and Maxine (Bennett) Osborn, was born May 12, 1947, in Pauls Valley, OK, and departed this life surrounded by loved ones on January 20, 2019, in Stilwell, Oklahoma, at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 8 days.
Beverly's parents moved to Stilwell in 1948 to make their home where they were blessed to raise two children; Beverly and John Doyal (JD). Beverly accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and was baptized in the Stilwell First Baptist Church. She had a special love for youth and spent years serving as a both a Sunday school teacher and youth leader. One of her greatest joys was being a church organist for 37 years.
Beverly married Bill Patterson on December 2, 1966, and to this union three daughters were born; Susan Hope, Julie Faith and Elizabeth Charity. Her children were blessed by how she taught them to love the Lord, never give up, tell people about Jesus, forgive, work hard, pray and have faith, journal and be thankful for answered prayer, always speak highly of their husbands, make their home a haven, teach their children the Word of God, practice what they preach, don't let the world in their home to destroy it, count their blessings, keep a good name, be in church, respect everyone, smile and greet people, be an influence for the Lord, and use their talents for God.
Beverly received her Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1968 and Masters in English in 1980 both from Northeastern State University. She was employed at Stilwell Public Schools as the high school speech and English teacher where her speech students excelled at speech competitions. She truly had a great love for helping teenagers succeed both in and out of the classroom, and it did not go unnoticed by her peers as she was chosen Stilwell Teacher of the Year three times and went on to be named Adair County Teacher of the Year.
She enjoyed everything family whether it was a vacation, sports event, etc. She would look for reasons to cook up a big meal and have everyone over.
Beverly was reunited with those who preceded her in death that she loved so dearly including her parents; Maxine Bennett Osborn Schroeder and Doyal Osborn, stepfather; Bill Schroeder, brother; John Doyal Osborn and sons in law; Danny Isaacs and Tony Bradley.
She is survived by a very loving husband of over 52 years; Bill of the home, Susan Hope Bradley of OKC, Julie Faith Stewart and husband Tim of Siloam Springs, AR, and Elizabeth Charity Isaacs of Stilwell, Grandchildren; Rachael Megli of Tahlequah, Aaron Patterson and wife Melinda of OKC, Haley, Jordan and Josh Stewart of Siloam Springs, AR, Lauren, Ashley, Luke, and Ryan Isaacs of Stilwell, several other relatives, church family and many friends also survive her.
