Bill Goodwin Sr., son of Chester Arthur and Delphia Iona Keeter Goodwin was born July 28, 1931 in Christie, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on August 7, 2014 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years and 10 days.
Bill married Beverly Vardeman Keith in 1951 and to this union 4 children were born: Billie Jr, Barbie, Beth and Becky. He was a very loving husband, dad and grandpa to his family. He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard during Korea. He attended NSU, OSU and received his masters degree from University of Arkansas. He was also the foundation of beginning the VICA group at Stilwell High School.
Bill was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Stilwell. He loved gardening, sports especially watching OU football but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, who he cherished deeply.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents 1 son: Billy Joe Goodwin Jr., brothers Chester Goodwin Jr., James Goodwin and 1 niece Diane Goodwin Sullivan.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife of over 63 years, Beverly Goodwin of the home in Stilwell, OK, 3 daughters Barbie Goodwin Adair and husband Joe of Stilwell, OK, Beth Goodwin Hill and husband Scott of Rogers, AR, Becky Goodwin Gray and husband Richard of Wagoner, OK, daughter in law Donna Goodwin of Catoosa, OK, 11 grandchildren Lance Goodwin and wife Molly, Layna Vann and husband Jason, Cameron Goodwin and wife Diana, Lindsay Collins and husband Ray, Angela Adair, Jamie Catron and husband Frank, Michael Adair, Amber Hill, Robyn Hill Burdette and husband Clifton, Caleb Hill and Elizabeth Gray, 18 great grandchildren. 6 Siblings H.L. Goodwin Sr., of Tahlequah, OK, Watie Goodwin and wife Norma of Sallisaw, OK, Freda Chuculate of Owasso, OK, Leon Goodwin and wife Pat of Stilwell, OK, Max Goodwin and wife Sally of Newark, CA, Nina Petty and husband Jerry of Tulsa, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many
friends also survive him.
In lieu of flowers the family of Bill Goodwin Sr. request that donations be made to the Stilwel High School Scholarship Foundation, P.O. Box 185, Stilwell, OK 74960 in memory of Bill.
Funeral services at 2 pm on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Bro. Roger Haney officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
