Boyd Holiman, son of Jacob Rucker Holiman and Effie Kindness Kester Holiman, was born on October 12, 1936 in Stilwell, OK. He departed this life on earth for his heavenly home on Sunday, October 9, 2011 in Stilwell, at the age of 74 years 11 months and 27 days. On April 5, 1958, he married Janice Auffet. To this union three children were born. Boyd was a gentle, loving, kind, caring man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. When they were small he enjoyed caring for them and taking them camping, to the beach, to Branson and other places on vacation. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He proudly served his country in the Army as a military policeman at Ft. Dix, NJ, where daughter Vanessa was born. After being discharged they moved back to Stilwell where sons Randal and Jeffrey were born. He worked at Adair County Orchard Company for 28 years where he eventually became a partner. After selling his interest in the company, he worked at Tyson for 12 years where his health failed and he had to retire. He served as Sunday school teacher, music director, and deacon at Rock Springs Baptist Church for many years. He was also a member of the Gideons. Preceding him in death were his parents: Jacob and Effie Holiman. He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Janice, of the home daughter Vanessa Anton and husband Terry of Tahlequah son Randal and wife Kendall of Frisco, TX, and son Jeffrey and wife Ruth Ann of Stilwell. He is also survived by grandchildren Tiffanie Ord and husband James of Tucson Michelle and Courtney Holiman of Stilwell and Rebecca, Jason and Kyle Holiman of Frisco, TX one great granddaughter, Isabella Ord his sisters Allie Brown and Husband Zeke of Bakersfield, CA Anna Boen of Arkoma, OK and one brother Mack Powell Buckner, Jr. and wife Kathy of Tulsa, OK two aunts and one uncle and lots of cousins and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Leo Allard and Glenn Hopkins officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
