Brandon Cooksey

Brandon Lee Cooksey age 48 of Stilwell, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Jim Hamilton in Hodgen, Oklahoma.

Brandon was born July 27, 1974, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Roy and Janice (Holmes) Cooksey. He grew up in the Stoney Point Community. He furthered his education by obtaining his GED and becoming a certified welder. Brandon had a passion for music and showed it through playing the guitar and drums. Brandon’s hobbies include playing softball and spending time with his family, especially his children who he loved dearly. He loved playing ball.

He is survived by one daughter: Janice Lee Wolfe; granddaughter: Aviona Eve Wolfe; sons: Ringo Cooksey, Asher Cooksey, and Max Cooksey; brothers: Michael Cooksey and wife Sherri, Jerel Pettit and wife Jennifer; and sister: Christa Catron. Other survivors include his aunts: Vicki Balderez and husband Chanel, Cheryl Christie, Ella Mae Worley; and uncle: Sequoyah Leach; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Brandon was preceded in death by his parents: Roy and Janice Cooksey; and sister: Krissy Elaine Cooksey.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Echota Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Dino Leach officiating.  Interment followed at Echota Cemetery, Stilwell, OK under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
