Stilwell

Burl Eugene Doyle son of Robert and Martha (Caudle) Doyle was born October 5, 1932 on Walkingstick Mountain near Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to live to spend eternity with our Lord on July 18, 2020 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.

Burl graduated from Northeastern State University and began his teaching career.  He had obtained three master’s degrees and several Bachelor’s Degrees. He was a teacher, counselor, and principal.  He had a great love for helping kids get educated even up until his most recent illness.  His love for children and helping others showed in fostering over 16 kids, adopting two and having a hand in raising many more.  He was a lifelong farmer and grew prize winning strawberries which he thoroughly enjoyed. He owned and operated Doyle’s Country Gardens for many years.  Above all of his accomplishments he was a warrior for Christ.  If you ever visited with him then you know somewhere in the conversation he would speak of the Lord.  He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force during Korea.

He married Glorine (Yetch) Crittenden and together they raised several children.  He was later married to Margie King.

Burl was preceded in death by his parents, two adopted sons; Bobby and Roy Doyle, spouses; Glorine (Yetch) Doyle and Margie Doyle,  siblings; Arthur, George and Clyde Doyle, Eula Doyle Bottoms, Grace Stephenson, children; Jimmy Jack Hummingbird, Myrna Sue Shell,  and several other relatives.
