Calvin Fixin

Calvin Clinton Clint Fixin was born October 30, 1946 in Barber, OK to Calvin and Coweta Philpott Fixin. He departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, AR. He was 64 years and 5 days old. Clint was an avid sports fan and his alltime favorite team was the OU Sooners. He enjoyed going to the OU football games with his family and friends where he held season tickets. At the age of 15 he became a quadriplegic from a diving accident, but that never slowed him down. He went on to finish high school and college and graduated from Okmulgee Tech with a Business degree. After his college graduation he was employed with Holts Telephone Company prior to working as a Personnel Manager at CNI for 25 years. He retired in 1995 due to health reasons. He served on the Stilwell City Council from May 1977April 1981. He was also a member of the Stilwell Kiwanis and the Stilwell Housing Authority. Clint always greeted whomever he met or visited him with a warm Hello and a big smile on his face. He loved to talk OU football with his friends and family. He was a great inspiration to so many people during his 64 years. Jack Steele once said People would always visit Clint to cheer him up, but instead Clint would cheer them up Clint is preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles. He is survived by one sister of the home, Barbara Fixin Worley, one nephew Steven Worley and companion Terry of Rogers, AR one niece Denise Worley Sellers and husband Buffalo and one special niece Lori Means three greatnieces Keisha Dawn Worley, Susan Kianna Worley and Jett Montana Sellers one greatnephew Beau Montgomery Sellers, all of Stilwell. 2 special uncles R.J. Dick Philpott and wife Carrie and George Philpott and wife Jeanie one special Aunt Pamela Inez Duffield and husband Tommy, all of Stilwell. A special recognition to the Stilwell EMS staff that transported him so many times and for the special care they gave him. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 8, 2010 at First Christian Church, Stilwell, OK with Kevin Spurlock officiating. Interment followed at Barber Cemetery, Welling, OK under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
