Clare Leroy Reese, son of Ellis Nae and Artie May Jeffries Reese, was born on April 29, 1921 in Westville, Oklahoma and passed from this life to the next on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in Siloam Springs, Arkansas at the age of 88 years, 6 months and 11 days. Clare married his soul mate, Frances Louise Myers, on September 21, 1943 in Siloam Springs, AR. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend. Clare was an active member of the New Hope Church, where he served as a deacon for the church and was a valued member of the New Hope Cemetery Community. Clare served our country proudly during World War II at the Normandy Beach Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. For gallantry in action against an enemy of the United States, he was awarded the Silver Star. His contribution and bravery in the face of battle will live on as a legacy for all generations to come. He was employed by North American Rockwell in Tulsa for 10 years, during which time he worked on the lunar lander components and Saturn V rocket components of which parts still remain on the moon. Clare was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Melba Willard. He is survived by his wife: Frances L. Reese of the home in Watts, OK, son and daughter in law: Mark Alan and Pamela Sue Reese of Rogers, AR, brothers: Jack and Joe Reese of Watts, OK, sisters: Bill Willey of Siloam Springs, AR, Bettie Marshall of Diamondhead, MS, Pat Snyder of Watts, OK, other relatives and many friends. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009 in the Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville, OK, with Bro. Ronnie Bradshaw officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
