Coeta Faye Thomas Brown was born June 26, 1933, in the Elm Grove Community of Adair County, Oklahoma to Elmer and Ethel Smith Thomas.

Coeta and her younger brothers Leo and Nathan grew up there with their parents on the farm and attended the Elm Grove School. After graduating from Stilwell high School, Coeta married Robert “Bob” Wear, having two sons Ronnie and Robbie. Coeta later remarried Clarence “Buddy” Brown, making their home in Tulsa. Through the years, Coeta worked for Safeway, retiring in 1982. She and Buddy built a new home and moved to Sallisaw to be nearer to her aging parents and family.

Coeta and Buddy were avid fishermen and enjoyed spending time with family and friends camping and fishing at Lake Tenkiller. She loved homemaking, cooking, gardening, crocheting, and quilt making, yard sales, bargain shopping, and collecting. She loved her little dogs: Sissie and Dollie.

Coeta was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Ethel Thomas; her husband: “Buddy” Brown; and her two brothers: Leo and Nathan Thomas.

Coeta was baptized and entrusted her soul to the Lord on August 12, 2021.

Coeta is survived by her sons: Ronnie Wear and wife Joyce, Robbie “Bo” Wear, Mitchell Brown and wife Sonya, and Steven Brown. 8 grandchildren, family, and friends.
