God has called another one of his children home. Connie Sue Brown Smith was born on July 27, 1952 in Ulysses, Kansas to H.T. and Maudie Brown. She departed this life on August 31, 2009 after a battle with cancer. She put up a hard fight even when the outlook was glum. She was 57 years, and 1 month old. She attended Satanta Grade School until her family moved to Stilwell. She finished her schooling in Stilwell graduating in 1970. She married Dallas Smith on February 29, 1980. He had two girls, Clarissa and Jackie. To this family was added two more girls, Misty and Julia. Connie worked at Mrs. Smiths in Stilwell for 36 years. She had to retire when she was diagnosed with ovarian and breast cancer. She enjoyed her role as wife, mother, grandma, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed going to church when her health would let her. She was a member of Noel Chapel Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, H.T. and Maudie Littlejohn Brown. Two brothers Joe Harvey Brown and William Harrison Brown. Four sisters, Margaret Brown, Carline Salsman, Linda Hothouse, and Mary Huggins. One niece Lela Buckner, and three nephews, Harrison Henry Buckner, Troy Don Brown, and William Jesse Sullins, Jr. She is survived by a very long list of loving family and friends. She is survived by her best friend and soul mate, her husband of 29 years, Dallas Smith. Four daughters, Clarissa Moses and husband Ronald of Westville, Oklahoma, Jackie Smith friend Tim McCoy of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Misty Williams and husband Derick of Westville, Oklahoma, and Julia Pack and husband Jimmy of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Her grandsons, Jacob Smith, Jaden Smith, and Jimmy Pack of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Zane Williams and David Moses of Westville, Oklahoma. Granddaughters, Jaclyn McCoy of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Cheyenne Moses and Sydney Moses of Westville, Oklahoma. Two brothers, Troy Brown and wife Anita of Sublette, Kansas, and Roy Brown and wife Neva of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Sisters, Myrtle Stages of Shamrock, Texas, Opal King, Peggy Sullins, and Faye Buckner and husband Adrian all of Stilwell, Irene Kay and Husband Tracy of Wilburton, Oklahoma. Also many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Also a special friend Earlene Craig of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be, 10:00AM, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Redbird Cemetery in Vian, Oklahoma. Josh Soap and Jason Brown will be speaking. Services will be under the direction of Roberts Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
