David Turner

May 9, 1964 — March 16, 2016

David "Pete" Turner, son of Carl and Helen "Sue" (Miller) Turner, was born on May 9, 1964 in Wichita, Kansas and passed from this life on March 16, 2016 in Vian, Oklahoma at the age of 51 years.
Pete and his family lived in Wichita, KS until 1972, when they moved to Bunch. He attended middle school and graduated from Cave Springs High School in May 1983. After graduation, Pete started working for his dad as a machinist.

He married Gina Bunch and their first child, Jackie, was born in 1986. In 1988, their second child, Jordan, was born.

Throughout his life, Pete loved to fish, spend time with his family, ride horses and help his Dad work on the farm. He was very easy going, got along with everyone and had many friends of all different ages.

In 2012, Pete was diagnosed with cancer, which began long and loving relationships with many caregivers and especially his family.

He started attending Rocky Mountain Holiness Church in 2014 and was baptized at Welling General Baptist Church that same year.
In October 2015, Pete moved to the Vian Nursing Home, where he had lived for the past 5 months.

His grandparents: Jidy & Bernice Miller, Donny & Clara Turner, mother: Sue Turner, sister: Tammy Ritchie, and brother-in-law: Buddy Rider, all preceded him in death.

A loving and devoted family survives Pete and includes his son: Jordan "Hooley" Turner and wife Lora, daughter: Jackie Lynn Duncan and husband Clint, both of Stilwell, OK, father: Carl Turner of the home near Stilwell, sister: Carla Nofire and husband Phillip of Bunch, OK, granddaughters: Sydra, Jayelyn, Payton, Leandra, Avery and Chloe, nieces: Rachelle Marquez and husband Oscar of Bella Vista, AR, Salisa Gaches and husband Buddy of Welling, OK, Gina Ritchie and Tandy Ritchie of Stilwell, brother-in-law: Randy Ritchie of Stilwell, special great nephews: Chance, Kobe and Jakob, special great nieces: Hannah, Kynlee, Aubrey and Avery and three wonderful nurses: Alicia Morris(Shorty), Sandy Marrin, Molly Johnson.
A host of other relatives and friends also survive Pete.

Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Charles DuVall officiating. Interment followed at Hungry Mountain Cemetery, Cherokee County, OK.
