Deborah Mathews

Deborah Lynn Ferrell Mathews was born on July 6, 1971 in Fayetteville, Arkansas to Wylie Howard and Mildred Jean Carlton Ferrell. She departed this life on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Stilwell Memorial Hospital at the age of 41 years, 11 months and 23 days. After dating in high school, Deborah became reacquainted with the love of her life Johnny Mathews at Stilwell Memorial Hospital on September 19, 2011, while taking care of his mother after her knee replacement. They married March 2, 2013 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. They made their home in Stilwell on her Grandparents home place. Deborah was a very hard worker. She helped her parents on the farm, worked in the chicken houses, gardens and hay fields. In 2011, she decided to start working in the healthcare field. Working as a CAN, she started school to become a surgical technician. Her plans were to finish school and become an RN. Deborah loved cooking and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by 3 children, her father: Howard Ferrell, step daughter: Kim Collins, grandparents: Will and Leota Ferrell and Sam and Ida Carlton. Deborah is survived by her loving husband: Johnny Mathews, sons: Wayne Collins and Wyatt Moore of the home, step children: Miki, Jaymi and John Ross Mathews and Trish Collins, her mother: Mildred Ferrell, brother: Kenneth Ferrell, nephew: Logan Ferrell, aunts and uncles: Dorothy Ferrell, Ann Carlton, Lucille Cole, Colene and Cliff Parker, Harold and Shirley Carlton, Donald and Alice Carlton. She is also survived by a very special friend: Holly Akins and many loving cousins, close friends and coworkers. Funeral services at 2 pm on Monday, July 8, 2013 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Bro. Mike Glass and Bro. Jimmy Essary officiating. Interment followed a Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
