Debra Lynn (Walkingstick) Hernandez, daughter of Delbert and Charlene Walkingstick, was born on Thursday, January 16, 1964 and departed this life on Monday, April 20, 2020 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
After attending Claremore High School, she worked in Tahlequah, Oklahoma in the Cherokee Nation registration department for several years.
She enjoyed the duties of being a loving mother, nana, sister and aunt. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved to go camping and spending family time at the river or lake. She also loved gardening in her free time.
Debra was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Charlene Walkingstick, Uncle Jerry William Thompson and Aunt Cletha Mae Pitts.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her aunt: Zelma Moore and husband Walter of Claremore, OK, uncle: Tommy Thompson and wife Brenda of Phoenix, AZ, two sisters: Angela Walkingstick and Andrea Hodge of Tahlequah, OK, two brothers: Richard Manus of Stillwater, OK, David Walkingstick of Tahlequah, four children: Cassandra Chavez and husband Cesar of Stilwell, OK, Christy Maher and husband Baldamar Martinez, Vanessa Hernandez of Tahlequah, Rodney Maher and wife Barbara Wendt of Moody, OK, fifteen grandchildren: Stephen Cesar, Jr., Eduardo, Christian and Oscar of Stilwell, Tobias and Kaylee of Moody, Rosa, Leah, Carmella, Miguel, Erica, Natalie, Princeton and Yamileth of Tahlequah.
Many other relatives and friends also survive her, and all will miss her every day.
Graveside services at 10 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with David Walkingstick officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
