Dona Morton

Dona Faye Morton, daughter of Jess and Lillie Sharp McMurtrey was born September 19, 1933 in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on January 20, 2012 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 1 day. She enjoyed the duties that followed her role as a homemaker being a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and going to church while her health permitted. Dona was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Francis French, son Johnny Edward Morton, grandson Michael Bradley Morton and granddaughter Angela Kay Morton. She was followed in death by her husband of nearly 60 years A.J. Morton of the home in Stilwell, OK on January 24, 2012 and is survived by a very loving family that includes her sons Jackie Morton, Frank Morton, Michael Morton and wife Rebecca all of Stilwell, OK. 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 1 greatgreat grandchild, brothers A.J. McMurtrey, Garland McMurtrey and wife Sharon of Westville, OK, Jack McMurtrey of Welling, OK, L.J. McMurtrey and wife Barbara of Park Hill, OK, sister Maude Cornel of Vian, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her. Funeral services were held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 27, 2012 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Bro. Joey Ketcher officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
