Donald Rector

Donald Dean Rector was born June 13, 1938, the 6th of 7 children to Rayburn and Gertrude Knight Rector in Christie, Ok. He passed from this life on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 after battling kidney failure, lung and heart disease at the age of 71 years, 5 months and 12 days. Donald known by many as Duck was married to Elterine Walters on Sept. 17, 1958 and to this union was born 3 daughters: Marsha, Sherry and Trina and 3 sons: Bryan, Brett and James. In his late teens, Donald pursued a career as a barber and practiced for many years. Some of the other occupations he held to provide for his family were Saw Milling, Proctor Canning Factory, Adair County Dist. 3, and Franklin Electric where he was a laborer and a group leader until he retired. Some of Donalds most loved hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren and was very proud of their accomplishments. Other hobbies were fishing, woodworking and gardening in which he was well known for never leaving home without those hot peppers in his shirt pocket. Donald loved drinking coffee and visiting with friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Rayburn and Gertrude Grace Rector, 2 brothers; Harold Rector and Forrest Benny Rector and 1 sister; Marilyn Leach. He is survived by a very loving family that includes his children; Marsha Davidson and husband Kevin of Westville, Ok, Sherry Kimble and companion Jim Ferrell of Tahlequah, Ok, Trina Burdge and companion Jimmy Christian of Westville, Ok, Bryan Rector and wife Dawn of Westville, Ok, Brett Rector and wife Tammy of Stilwell, Ok, James Rector and wife Sheila of Stilwell, Ok, 1 brother; Clifford Tip Rector of Sapulpa, Ok, and 2 sisters; Carol Tootsie Trickett of Waco, Tx, Mary Aitson of Woodward, Ok. His childrens mother; Elterine Rector, 16 grandchildren; Steven Kimble of Ft. Smith, Ar, Scotty Kimble of Tahlequah, Ok, Justin Bell, Stacy Contreras, Cole Rector, Erika Rector, Lauren Rector all of Westville, Ok, Jona Mathews, Wesley Rector, Whitney Rector, Tristian Rector, Felicia Manning, Dawson Rector, Colin Rector all of Stilwell, Ok, Nick Adair, Emilee Burdge both of Westville, Ok, 6 great-grandchildren; Hailey Kimble of Ponca City, Ok, Maria, Dylan and Mario Contreras all of Westville, Ok, Nicole Adair of Westville, Ok, Baby Matthews of Stilwell, Ok, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him. Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009 at Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville, Oklahoma with Bro. Audie Vaughan and Bro. Chris Harrison officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, Oklahoma under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
