Edith Melvina Bland, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on February 2, 1942, in Adair County, Oklahoma.
Edith was a homemaker, an avid canner, and was always up for an adventure. Her love for her family and friends was of the utmost importance. She was known for her spitfire attitude, her unyielding love, and as a fighter. Her spirit will remain an inspiration for those who knew her, reminding them to cherish every moment and pursue their passions. Edith's legacy of kindness and resilience will live on through the countless lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Laura (Watkins) Hall; her loving husband, George W. Bland; two sons, Billy Bland and Bobby Bland; one daughter, Brenda (Bland) Burr; and a grandson, CJ Bland.
Those left behind to carry on her legacy include two daughters, Deborah Peterson and Dorinda Gillaspy; one son, Randy Bland, and wife Pam Bland; and grandchildren Jennifer Burr and husband Anthony Stoltzfus, May Smith and husband Larry Smith, Robert Gillaspy Jr., Mark Peterson, Jack Peterson and wife Taylor Peterson, and Kendra Allen and husband Jesse Allen. Great-grandchildren Ally, Robert, Caleb, Connor, Riley, Jesse, Albert, Xavier, Ivan, Amelia, Sydnee, Skyler, and Emma. Along with many other family and friends.
