Edward Lee Baird was born on December 29th, 1930 in Stilwell, Ok to James and Flora Reed Baird. He departed this life to be with his Lord on April 1st, 2012 at the age of 81. He lived in Spade Mountain most of his life. He fought in Korean War 19521954. Became a member of the Church of Christ in 1955 where he served as a deacon, elder, and a Sunday school teacher. He was a devoted husband, loving Father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Ed married the love of his life, Wanda Ruth Woodward on June 3, 1956 at the Stilwell Church of Christ and to this union 7 children were born: Roger, Dianna, Kathryn, Edwina, Lydia, Leah and James. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Ruth Woodward Baird His parents, James and Flora Reed Baird 8 brothers, Allen, James, Ray, Faye, Earl, Johnny, Bobby, and Curt Baird and 2 sisters Gertrude and Mary. He is survived by a loving family that includes his 7 children Roger Lee Baird and wife Shelley of Evansville, AR, Dianna Ruth Schweitzer and husband Daryl of Broken Arrow, OK, Kathryn Lynn White of Stilwell, OK, Edwina Luethje and husband David of Westville, OK, Lydia Kay English and husband Donald of Johnstown, NY, Leah Mae Reynolds and husband Lancer of Stillwell, OK, and James Turner Baird and wife Linda of Stillwell, Ok. 26 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, two Sisters, Annie Brt and Betty Perry both of Stilwell, OK and several other relatives, friends, and loved ones also survive him. Funeral services were held at 10 am on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Church of Christ, Stilwell, Ok with Larry Hatfield officiating. Interment followed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery.
