Edward Lee “Jimboy” Sawney was born on September 12, 1964 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Sallie Marie Sawney. He passed from this life to his forever home on September 16, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 57 years of age surrounded by family.
Jimboy, as everyone knew him, was a jokester and always had a smile on his face. He loved his family. They meant the world to him. He loved going fishing anytime he could. He also was a traveler. He loved watching football, especially the OU Sooners. He was an awesome chef as well. While he lived in Ada, Oklahoma for a time, he entered a tough man contest and won.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Sallie Marie Sawney and sister: Dorena Alexander.
Jimboy is survived by a special friend: Julia Vann of Hulbert, OK, four brothers: Thomas Hawk, Jr. of Lincoln, AR, Jerry Hawk of Westville, OK, Jesse Hawk of Stilwell, OK and Stevie Sawney of Ada, OK, five sisters: Willie Mae Alexander, Mary McDonald and Christine Hawk, all of Ada, OK, Letha Crittenden of Colcord, OK, Janice Sawney of Tahlequah, OK.
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 2 pm on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Chulio Cemetery, Stilwell, OK with Jeremy Verrette, Sr. and Leo Duncan officiating. Interment followed under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
