Eli Turtle

Eli Turtle, , son of Young and Emma McLemore Turtle was born April 7, 1932 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on June 19, 2010 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 12 days. Eli was preceded in death by his parents and was blessed to have been raised by his grandparents Charlie and Rebecca Hopper Turtle of Stilwell. His grandparents and 1 brother Henry Turtle also preceded him in death. He loved to go fishing, raising cattle, gardening and working on the farm especially with his tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. He was a member of Sequoyah Baptist Church. Eli is survived by a very loving family that includes 4 daughters Ruth Holiman and husband Jeff, Emma Tune, Shirley Martin and husband Johnny and Dianna Turtle all of Stilwell, Ok. 4 grandchildren Michelle Holiman, Garrett Tune, Courtney Holiman and Jacob Martin all of Stilwell, Ok, 1 brother William Turtle and wife Nina of Kansas, Ok, nephew: Jeff Turtle, nieces: Lisa Turtle and Michelle Turtle Summerfield, several other nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends also survive him. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at RobertsReedCulver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Woods officiating. Interment followed at McLemore Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
