Ella Boren

Ella Marie Boren was born on the 29th day of April, 1924 at the Oak Grove Community, Stilwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ray Hembree and Carlotta (Adair) Hembree, and died on the 25th day of May, 2021 at her home in Westville, Oklahoma.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Homer C. Boren, parents, and four brothers, Watie Hembree and Monroe Hembree of Stilwell, OK.  Sam Hembree of Oklahoma City and Vernon Hembree of New Mexico, one sister, Alyene Padgett of Sallisaw, OK.

Survivors are her three children, daughters, Debra Boren of Westville; Sue Wittenberg and husband Robert of Gladstone, Missouri. Son, Tommy Boren and wife Peggy of Paola, Kansas; three brothers Alfred Hembree and wife Sue; Dan Hembree and wife Audrey, of Westville, Ivan Hembree of Stilwell; brother-in-law Dewey Padgett of Sallisaw, and sister-in-law, Lorraine Hembree of New Mexico; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Marie was a wonderful seamstress, who loved to make homemade quilts and continued to make quilts until her health prevented her from doing so.

She was a devoted Christian.  She attended the Impact Church of Westville, until her health was failing and she could no longer attend.

We will all miss her.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK with Pastor Navil Vaughan officiating.  Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
