Elsie Stewart

Elsie Augustine Stewart, daughter of General and Bonnie (Jones) Trent was born September 14, 1931 in Hammon, OK and departed this life on July 27, 2015 in Stilwell, OK at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 13 days.

She very much loved playing the piano and guitar. She could play by ear and loved teaching her grandchildren to play and sing. She also enjoyed doing puzzle books and playing chicken foot. Elsie attended Central Baptist Church while her health permitted but held a membership at Freewater Baptist.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Julius Stewart, son; Gary Stewart, 2 great grandsons; Julius Wayne White and Larry Emmanuel Marshall, 2 brothers; Walter and Kenneth Trent and 1 infant brother, 2 sisters; Maria Brace and Bernice Lowe.

She is survived by a very loving family that includes her children; Linda Colston and husband Jim, Eddie Stewart, John Stewart, grandchildren; Nathan Stewart and wife Amy, Eric Stewart, Victoria Mantooth and husband Boe, Walter Jimmy T Colston and wife Kristen, Dana Colston and Justin Wolf, Jessy Carlton, great grandchildren; Javen, Bonnie, Rebecca, Jessie, Deston, Kaylee, Hannah, Linda and Jacob. 3 sisters; Margie Stream, Coleen Marshall, Rita Mae Trent, 2 brothers; Michael and Tony Trent, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Monday, August 3, 2015 at Central Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Larry Swafford officiating. Interment followed at Freewater Cemetery, Stilwell, Ok under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
