Emma Jean DeLay aka Jeanie was born on October 17, 1941 in Bakersfield, CA to Lottie May Billingsley DeLay and Leonard Coleman DeLay.

Jeanie married George Philpott on July 29, 1957 in Stilwell Oklahoma. They have been married 56 years 9 months and 15 days. To this union 4 children were born. George Philpott Jr, Lisa Georgina Philpott Brown, Michelle DeLayna Philpott Cook, and Phillip Maxwell Philpott.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Lottie DeLay and her firstborn son George Philpott Jr.

Emma is survived by her husband George of the home, Daughters Lisa and her husband Jeffrey Brown, Michelle and her husband Edward Cook of Stilwell and Son Phillip Philpott also of Stilwell. 7 grand daughters, Jessica Wilson, Ashley Brown, Bethany Carter, Heather Quick, Lauren Brown, Haley Brown, of Stilwell Oklahoma and Sydni Philpott of Rockford IL. 4 grandsons, Nathan Cook, Chance Philpott, Colby Philpott of Stilwell and Zachary Philpott of Rockford IL. 3 great grand daughters, Shelby Wilson, Halle Quick, Meckenah Philpott, 6 great grandsons, Layne Wilson, Landon Wilson, Aiden Carter, Brayton Carter, Zayne Cook of Stilwell and Justin Quick of Woodall.

2 Uncles, Fred DeLay and JB DeLay with many other cousins, family members, and friends.

Emma was a lady of many talents, she loved to read from an early age and one of her first books to mention was Wee Wee Mouse. She passed on her love of reading to her children and grandchildren. She loved to collect baskets, and paint pictures for her family. Her daughters remember her sewing for them when they were younger into the early hours, making sure they had whatever she was sewing for them on time. She took Phillip to many baseball games over the years ,watching him play from TBall to College Ball and was very proud of his athletic ability.

Emma owned and operated a beauty shop in Stilwell for several years, was coowner of Philpott Grocery. She was the Secretary of the First Baptist Church in Stilwell until she and George bought a chicken farm in the early 80s. She loved her grand children and taught them many Bible verses and Bible stories.

Funeral services were held at 10 am on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Pastor Mike Stanley and Pastor Jeff Brown officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery.
