Franklin Sawney

Franklin “Mose” Sawney 65, of Stilwell, Oklahoma entered into rest on September 27, 2023. Mose was born to Franklin Sr. and Nancy Sawney on October 21^st, 1957, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

Mose had lots of activities he enjoyed pouring his interests into. For example. He and his favorite four-legged buddy “Squirrely” went on many walking adventures together. They share a tight bond and Squirrely is already missing his favorite human. Trying to out-fish his grandson Nicholas is another favorite pastime of Mose. The art of canning vegetables and sharing them among a full table with friends and family is part of who Mose was as a husband, dad, and granddad. Mose will be greatly missed by all those who grew to know and love him.

He is survived by a loving family which includes his wife Joan of the home, children Kat Sawney, Joe Byrd, Lori Lynn Lomen, James Byrd, Leonard Sawney, Molly Sawney, Mia Sawney. Brothers Earnest Sawney of Stilwell, JD Sawney, and Daryle Sawney all of Stilwell, Ok. Special Niece Casandra Buckner, Special Friend, and Neighbor; Nadine Ross, 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, aunt Marie Brewer, special friend Lee Sevenstar, and Mary Canoe. He also leaves to mourn a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin D. Sawney and Nancy Sawney, his sisters Lula and Lillie Sawney, one brother Winfred Sawney, one niece Brittany, one nephew Melvin Joe Sawney, Wyatt Duncan, one sister-in-law Vanessa Sawney, uncles and aunts and mother-in-law Leona Bird father-in-law Jim Bird.
