G.B. Eagleton, son of William Elmer and Dora Marie Walker Eagleton was born June 19, 1935 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on October 27, 2014 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 8 days.
G.B. owned and operated Eagleton Hardware in Westville with his wife Tressie for 33 years. Together they raised three children, Sheryl, Sheila, and David. He was also a volunteer fireman in Westville for many years. G.B. and Tressie were the founders of the Green Country Travelers Camping Club. He was a member and deacon of Westville Pentecostal Holiness Church. On most Saturday mornings you could find him having breakfast with friends around town. After the death of Tressie, the Lord blessed him again and he met and married Beverly. Together they traveled and made many new memories. Beverly has been a blessing and a tremendous caretaker during his time of illness. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, but most of all enjoyed spending time with his family especially his precious grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Tressie Eagleton, brothers J.D. Eagleton and J.L. Eagleton.
G.B. is survived by a very loving family that includes his wife Beverly Eagleton of the home, 3 children Sheryl Broughton and husband Tim, Sheila Ketcher and husband L.J., David Eagleton and wife Gwenda all of Westville, OK, step son Jeff Phillips and wife Angie of Norman, OK, 9 grandchildren Jeremy Broughton and wife Justina, Jordan Broughton, Melissa Ayo and husband Jake, Ashleigh Auffet and husband Zach, Philip Ketcher and wife Rylee, Chad Eagleton and wife Bobbi Jo, Kristan McGhee and husband Erik, Zac Phillips and wife Kayli, Casey Freeman and husband Tyler. Great grandchildren Max, Koa, Lincoln, Navy, Adian, Braeleigh, Channing, Kori Jo, Jaxon, Rayder and Skye, 1 brother J.C. Eagleton and wife Sharon of Oaks, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Roberts Hart Chapel, Westville, OK with Bro. Chris Harrison, Bro. Navil Vaughan and Rev. Lynn Ice officiating. Interment followed at Westville City Cemetery, Westville, OK.
