Gary Guthrie

Gary Wayne Guthrie was born on May 27, 1948 to Lenora Sanders Guthrie in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on July 31, 2021 at the age of 73.

Gary went to Seneca Indian Boarding School, Sequoyah High School and graduated from Haskell Indian Nations University in 1968. On January 1969, he enlisted to the United States Army with a rank SP4. Gary met Dianne S. Alford in August 1996 and they married on September 8, 2005. He enjoyed being with his fur babies, Bebe and Sammy, and watching OU Football.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lenora Sanders Guthrie; sister, Therma Rider; aunts and uncles from Sanders Flats and granddaughter, Autumn Proctor.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Guthrie of the home; brothers, Robert Bunch of Stilwell and Darrell Guthrie of Claremore; his children, Roman Guthrie (Kelly), Jeremy Guthrie, Garen LeRoy (Justin), Patty Ging; Juanita Smith (Michael), Adam Proctor (Pennah), Wesley Proctor; grandchildren, Tycilla (Jerrad), Zachary, Brendon, Robert, Alysa, Maggi, Christian, Ethan, Noah, Makalynn, Jeremiah, Justin II, Landon, Kaylei and Kimberlynn; eleven great grandchildren; special friend, Ronnie (Mac) McIntosh and numerous other family and friends.
