Gladys Parker

Gladys Pauline Parker was born on March 8, 1915 at Delaney Arkansas and passed from this life on Friday, October 2, 2015 in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She moved to Oklahoma with her parents Lon and Daisy Wheeler at a young age.

She married Clifford Parker on December 2, 1933. They moved to a small farm in the Titanic (Freewater) community in Adair Co. where she continued to live her entire life. Three children were born to this union. They are Robert Earl Parker, James Clifford Parker and Rita Joyce Carlile.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Clifford Parker, parents: Lon and Daisy Wheeler, two brothers: James. Woodrow Wheeler and Thurman Bruce Wheeler, two sister-in-laws: Bonnie Wheeler and Mary Wheeler.

She is survived by one sister Ernestine Center of Tahlequah Oklahoma, Two sons Robert Earl Parker and James Clifford Parker and wife Elsie of Stilwell, Oklahoma. One daughter Rita Joyce Carlile and husband Carl of Amarillo, Texas, Five grandchildren Tammy Bartholomew and husband Steve of Archie, Missouri; Cindy Stewart an husband Chuck of Stilwell, OK; Randy Parker and wife Shannon of Stilwell, OK.; Roger Carlile and wife Rita Lynne of Coppell, TX; and Jeffrey Carlile and wife Erin of Amarillo, TX, ten Great Grandchildren Rachel and husband Bryant Kagay of Ankeny, Iowa; Hannah Bartholomew of Columbia, MO; Ryan Carlile of Charlottesville, VA; Loren Ferguson and husband Austin of Virginia, Caitlyn Carlile of San Marcos, TX; Mason Carlile of Amarillo, TX, Tessa Carlile of Amarillo, TX, Caleb Carlile of Amarillo TX; Shane Parker of Stillwater, Ok and Steven Parker, U.S. Army, Vilseck, Germany.

Pauline has been a member of Bidding Creek Baptist Church since it was organized. She served as the church secretary for many years and was also a dedicated worker in the Church Nursery.

She was a very talented seamstress making clothing for herself, her children and many friends and relatives in the community as well. She especially enjoyed making fancy little dresses for her two granddaughters.

Funeral services at 10:30 am on Monday, October 5, 2015 at Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, OK with Rev. Steve Bartholomew officiating. Interment at Freewater Cemetery, Stilwell, OK.
