Glenn Douglas Yell, age 80, passed from his earthly home on Saturday, April 29, 2023 in Peavine, Oklahoma on Spring Valley Dairy.
Glenn was born on August 26, 1942 to Ernest Noble Yell and Jewell Mae (Norris) Yell in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. He attended high school in West Fork, Arkansas, graduating in 1960 as class president. After graduation, Glenn began working as a food deliveryman, delivering meat and food supplies to restaurants and businesses. As a young adult, Glenn met his best friend, farming partner and love of his life, Margaret.
Glenn married Margaret Terrell on October 29, 1961 in Peavine, OK and they started their life and family together. They began their journey in Spearman, Texas before returning to Oklahoma. After they returned to Oklahoma, they settled in Peavine where they began dairy farming. They farmed on their original homestead for 10 years before extending the family farm to it’s current location today, Spring Valley Dairy. A fond family memory was driving their dairy cows down the county road from the original milk barn to it’s location today, before sending the house to follow on a trailer down Highway 59. Glenn farmed alongside his wife and children his entire life, which was one of his greatest joys. His grandchildren and now great grandchildren have spent many cherished days with their Papa and Granny on the farm.
Glenn was a lifelong farmer and steward of the land. However, most importantly he was a faithful disciple of Christ, sowing seeds for the Lord wherever he went, with whomever he met. Glenn and Margaret attended church at Peavine Holiness Church, devotedly serving in their community. Glenn served on several agricultural and company boards and committees. Glenn not only donated his effort and time, but also his heart to many charitable organizations including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Glenn departed his earthly home with a heart dedicated to the Lord. His friends and family find comfort and joy knowing he is farming in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Kathleen Dianne, his sister Viva May Hyland and two brothers, Ernest Wayne Yell and Garlen Ewing Yell.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Margaret, his children Clinton and wife Carlene of Peavine, OK., Red and his wife Dianna of Peavine, OK., and Tracy and her husband Jerry of Peggs, OK and sister Helen Buck of Holden, Missouri.
