Glynda Camp

Glynda Mae (Beach) Burnett Camp was born at the family home in Checotah, Oklahoma to George Lawrence and Bonnie M. (Burks) Beach on Febuary 27, 1942. She passed from this life after a short illness on Febuary 5, 2019 in Stilwell, Oklahoma with her family by her side.
She and her siblings grew up in Checotah raised by their grandparents, George Lester and Myrtle Mae (Gramlich) Beach. She got her 1st job at the age of twelve washing dishes at the Katie Cafe in Checotah and was Baptized in Checotah. Glynda and her siblings worked with their grandfather during the summers picking cotton, cutting corn and whatever other crop work was to be done. Glynda started learning to sew at 6 years old and by the time she was 10 she was making dresses for herself and her little sisters. She worked at a Blue Jean factory and from that she became an excellent seamstress.
She lived in Santa Monica, California, Borger, Texas, Nashville, Arkansas, Muskogee, Oklahoma and finally settled in Stilwell in 1971. She had many hobbies throughout her life but the most surprising is that she was one of the first female Team Steer ropers in Oklahoma, she also barrel raced on a stubbrn little mare called Dee that had a mind of her own. Most of her rodeos were at Hilltop arena on the North end of Muskogee. When she was single living in Muskogee she would go the Vapers Club to dance and listen to the music where she danced with a giutar playing singer that performed his sets in his white tee shirt by the name of Harold Lloyd Jenkins AKA "Conway Twitty". Most of her life she waited tables at many different resturants, cafes, diners and truck stops from Checotah to Santa Monica. She sewed Western shirts for all the truck drivers at Stilwell Foods in the 70s, sewed dresses for her daughter when she was little, made fancy dresses for dolls, and stuffed carousel horses. She could do just about any arts & craft work she found interesting from painting yard ornaments to putting together puzzles and also loved fishing. In the last several years Glynda spent her time feeding and watching birds, checking out the bargains at local yard sales, working on her flower beds, going to the Casino and visting with her sisters and an occasional lunch at Red Lobster.
Glynda is preceeded in death by her parents; Lawrence Beach, Bonnie Limbaugh, her brother; Gene Beach, baby sister; Jessie Lee "Corky" Sisco, her only granddaughter; Melanie Dawn Burnett, husbands Clifford J Camp and Leroy Rusk.
Those left to cherish Gylnda's memroy are her two children; Ronnie Burnett and wife Pam, daughter; LaDonna Brannon, her grandsons; Dylan Fuson and wife Lesli, Cody Burnett and Heath Brannon, four great grandsons; Taylor Wood, Coty Hayes, Emory McDonald and Wyatt Fuson, her sisters, Marie Bohannon, Bobbie and husband Leo Farmer , Arthur Limbaugh, several neices, nephews, cousins neighbors and friends.
It was her wish that there be no service but to be cremated and her ashes scattered at the old farm place she loved so much at Tyler Springs just Northeast of Stilwell at a later date.
