Cullis Grady Price was born on October 14, 1922 in Evansville, Arkansas to Joe W. and Winnie (Leach) Price.
He grew up in Evansville and graduated from High School, joined the U. S. Army during World War II. Grady was part of the occupation force in Japan after the war. In 1945, Grady married Wanda Lea Swain and the couple celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary shortly before Wanda's death in 2005.
Grady and Wanda owned and operated a dairy farm in Evansville for many years, but after selling their farm in 1973, they moved to Stilwell and Grady decided to pursue a lifelong ambition and become a barber. He attended Tulsa Barber College, got his license and started working at the Palace Barber Shop in Stilwell. Grady and his good friend, Bob Hill, performed an untold number of haircuts during the 40 plus years they worked together.
Grady passed away at the Stilwell Nursing Home on September 24, 2016 at the age of 93 years and 11 months after fighting a valiant battle against renal cancer.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Wanda, his parents: Joe and Winnie Price and his sister: Jolora (Price) Tibbits.
He is survived by his nephew: Dennis Tibbits of Stilwell, OK, brother-in-law: Jim Tibbits and wife Faye of Westville, OK, sister-in-law: Ova Mae Quinton of Morrow, AR, Wanda's niece: Marilyn Pinkerton of Tulsa, OK, Wanda's nephews: Connie Swain and wife JoAnn of Bella Vista, AR and Bobby Swain of Tulsa. Grady is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
GRAVESIDE SERVICES at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Dutch Mills Cemetery, Dutch Mills, Arkansas under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
