Herman Lewis Teehee was born on August 19, 1966, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma to Salol Troy Teehee and Lula Soap Teehee, all life long residents of the Bell Community. He departed this life, surrounded by family on June 6, 2024, at the age of 57 years in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was an amazing husband, a loving and protective father, and the most patient and fun papa around. He had a deep love for music and was great at playing the drums. Going for a drive while listening to the oldies was a special downtime he often shared with his wife. He loved to ride horses and sing with his daughter, hunt and fish with his boys, and work with his brothers and uncle. As for his sisters, he was their baby boy. He was the best at everything he did and was known for his humor.
Herman faced the hardest, battles head on; his strength was unmatched. Through it all he was happy. Know that he loved his life, and was never tired of fighting, regardless of his circumstances. He leaned deeply into faith and prayer and was so thankful for all the love poured into him by his family and friends. Herman was a full blood Cherokee and fluent Cherokee speaker. His departure is felt across all of Cherokee Nation.
Herman was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Henry, Woodrow, Leeroy, and Truman Tehee, four sisters, Virginia, Wynona, Wanda and Donna; and nieces, Loramae, and Phyllis Jean Teehee.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Charlotte Teehee, one daughter, Billie Jean Teehee, two sons John and wife Aky'sha Teehee and Clayton and wife Randy Teehee, all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. One sister, Betty Teehee and Grandchildren; John Erik Teehee II, Garrett Lewis Teehee, Aaliyah Jade Teehee, Klayton Rose Teehee, Camille Faith Teehee, Phoenix Ahniweg Teehee, and Ellis Teehee, nephews; Norman and Raymond Springwater, Brandon and Gary Teehee, and Victor and Tyrone Sevenstar; nieces Jennifer and Veronica Teehee, Lula Sevenstar, Andrea Teehee-Gonzales, Angie Bunch, and Shortie Ross, as well as many cousins, great nieces, and nephews, and friends.
