Ida Mae Trammell daughter of Lee and Ada (Walkingstick) Hallmark was born in Stilwell, OK on June 5, 1918 and departed this life to be with her Lord on November 26, 2016 at Stilwell Memorial Hospital at the young age of 98 years, 5 months and 21 days.
Ida started at a young age knowing how to work and make a living. She was always helping her dad plow the fields behind the mules or carrying water up the mountain from the springs to her mom.
Ida married Buford Trammell and to this union they had two children Mildred and Leroy. After marriage they would go pick cotton in Western Oklahoma during picking season. She could out pick other so they would fill their sacks with rocks to look like they out filled her. She worked as a cook at Starr School and would get Butch Ogden out of class because he was such a good helper.
She went to work at Stilwell Canning Company when it first opened under the tin building. She worked there until her retirement. She would even milk cows by hand before and after work each day. She loved canning her own vegetables, pickles and even enjoyed canning soup for Shari. If you came to visit you didn't go away hungry, she would even give you fried pies and homemade canned goods to take home.
Ida was a joy to be around, loved to crochet and could make anything. She loved to talk and visit with people and when her grandson opened up Steve's produce well she saw many people and watched their kids grow up. She was a very special Mom, Grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Buford, daughter; Mildred Price, son: Leroy Trammell, sister; Luvicy Ann Stepp, brothers; John and Bill Hallmark, and grandson in law; Pete Foster.
