J Morris

d. January 24, 2013

J B Morris was born March 24, 1920 near Chance, Oklahoma to Jeff and Isabelle Morris. He passed away January 24, 2013 at Siloam Springs Regional Hospital in Siloam Springs, Ark. He attended school at Taylor and Clearfork schools, as the Morris family moved to Chewey in 1936. He did two 6 month stints in the Civilian Conservation Corp in Colorado, where he began barbering for extra money. After returning to Oklahoma he married the love of his life, Lucille Noblin on September 20, 1941. They were married for 62 years prior to her death in 2004. Except for the few years when he owned and ran a grocery store, J B was a farmer his whole life. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening and did not feel his day was complete unless he spent some time on his tractor. He was blessed to remain active and was able to get out and feed his cows the day before he passed on. He was a member of Lightning Ridge Community Church. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Phillips, of Kansas, Ok, son Willard Morris and his wife Judy of West Siloam Springs, OK, son David Morris and his wife Glenda of Watts, OK, seven grandchildren, six greatgrandchildren and five greatgreatgrandchildren. He adored each and every one but was able to spend the most time with Lyndsey and Carissa because they lived so close. He will be painfully missed by all. He is survived by one brother, Dennis Morris of Chewey. J B is preceded in death by his wife Lucille, sister Ina Flippo and four brothers Bert, Alvis, Bruce and Jess Morris. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Monday, January 28, 2013 at Faith Holiness Church, Westville, OK with Bro. Jim Beavers officiating. Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery, Chewey, OK.
