Jackie Brown

Jackie Ray Brown, son of Allen and Bertha Nelke Brown, was born on June 20, 1940 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and departed this life on Sunday, July 18, 2010 in Bunch, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years and 28 days. Jack was a lifelong resident of Adair County. He married Helen Garner and the Lord blessed them with 4 children. He worked as a store manager at IGA for many years. Jack loved the Lord and was faithful in his worship and praise. He loved his family and enjoyed all of the time that he was able to spend with them. He was preceded in death by his mother: Bertha Nelke Brown, daughter: Velvet Lee Bird, grandson: Randall Wayne Bird, daughter in law: Cathrine Brown. Surviving Jackie is a very loving family that includes his wife: Helen Brown of the home near Bunch, OK, children: Ricky Brown of the home, Vickie Reeves of Stilwell, OK, Brenda Matney and husband Brian of Mansfield, MO, 7 grandchildren: Dewayne Reeves of Lees Summit, MO, Jason Reeves of Alma, AR, Amanda Sue Scott of Bunch, OK, Ricky Brown, Jr. of Sapulpa, OK, Daniel Ray Brown of Bunch, OK, Hannah LeaAnn Bird of Bunch, OK, 18 greatgrandchildren, special friends: Bernice Ramey, Dean and Rena Vanderheiden, Eddie Rich and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Pastor Max Ford officiating. Interment followed at Rock Fence Cemetery under the direction of RobertsReedCulver Funeral Home.
