Jasper Sherman Scraper, son of Worth Franklin and Fannie Blackburn Scraper was born on December 9, 1916 in Adair County, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with our Lord on December 24, 2011 at the age of 95 years and 15 days. He was married to Barbara JewLene Moss in June of 1954 and to this union 3 children were born Donnie Sherman, David George and Judy Carrol. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II from 1941 until 1945. He was stationed in Germany, France and Italy. During his life he had various employment with ranches, sawmills, food canneries, poultry processors until his retirement from Goldkist Poultry plant in Arkansas in the mid 1980s. He also loved farming, wildlife, and domestic animals, especially horses, cats and dogs, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family especially his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed having visitors. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Scraper, son Donnie Scraper, brothers William A., James Woodrow, Clayton and Troy Cleburn Scraper, one infant brother, and sisters Clara Gladden and Pauline Ketcher. Sherman is survived by a very loving family that includes his children David Scraper and wife Gail, Judy Unger and husband Sam Teehee all of Stilwell, OK, 13 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren, Brother Granville Scraper of Wilburton, OK, sister Nettie McGee of Stilwell, Ok, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive him. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Bro. Glen Hopkins officiating. Interment followed at Ewing Chapel Cemetery.
