Jess C. Cochran was born June 15, 1948 to Alex and Genora (Soap) Cochran in Stilwell, Oklahoma. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 2, 2021.
He attended school at Wyandotte and Maryetta. He served in the Army at Vietnam. He was employed with Hudson and Tyson Foods for over 32 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church for 53 years. He enjoyed going to church, spending time with family, and doing yard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister: Carolene Sevenstar.
He is survived by his best friend: Norma (Nofire) Cochran of Westville, Oklahoma. 4 sons: Jeffrey Cochran and wife Sabrina of the home, Keoka Cook of Decatur, Arkansas, Jimmy Cochran of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Gary Cochran of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Tanasia, Tyler, and Tyren Cochran of the home. A special “granddaughter”: Honour Grayson of Brushy, Oklahoma and 15 more grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. 3 brothers: Willard Cochran, Johnny Cochran, Andrew Cochran and wife Eva all of Stilwell, Oklahoma. 5 sisters: Rosie McLemore and husband Dewey, Mary Scott and husband Jerry, Sally Terrapin and husband Thomas, Susie Nofire and husband Chester, and Margie Cochran all of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and a special niece: Jerri Lynn Vann. Many more nieces, nephews, relatives, church family, and friends also survive him.
