Jewell Brown

Jewell Lavonne Brown was born August 22,1937 to Franklin John Posey Brown and Mable Winkler Brown in Stilwell, Oklahoma. She passed from this life to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 13,2016. She was a life-long resident of Stilwell. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents, one infant sister, and two great-nieces. She is survived by two brothers, Bill E.R. Brown of Stilwell, Oklahoma and George Brown of Houston, Texas, five nephews, three nieces, six great- nieces, three great-nephews, three great-great nieces, four great-great nephews, one great-great-great niece, one great-great-great nephew, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
Jewell was a quiet and gentle-natured lady who loved her family. She was a member of Noel Chapel Church of Christ. She worked at Stilwell Canning Company during her young adult life. She also enjoyed her time working at Stilwell Cafe, where she made many friends; however, her enjoyment during her later years was during her employment with Stilwell Schools grandparent program where the children lovingly referred to her as "Granny Brown".
Jewell was a faithful daughter, caring sister, loving aunt and devoted friend and will be missed by all.
Funeral Services at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016 on Roberts/Reed-Culver Chapel, Stilwell, Oklahoma with Bro. Larry Hatfield and Bro. Jim Walker officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, Oklahoma
