Cherokee son, Jimmie Dale Stevens Sr. "Bear" of Wagoner, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2020 after battling a long illness.
Born April 30, 1942 in Stilwell Oklahoma, he is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janice Marlene Stevens, sons Jimmie Jr. and Jeff, his sister Judy of Hinton Oklahoma, a brother Joe Allen of Tucson Arizona, Grandkids Tylar, Jordan and Alexandra and 6 Great Grandkids. He is also survived by his beloved Aunt Betty Keeter, the Vardeman family and Aunt Alberta Stevens, all from Stillwell, the precious Johnson family, Heather, Nathon, Zana and Eva from Red Oak and other cherished nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graduate of Stilwell High School he entered the service and retired from The Army Reserve as an E7. He spent over 20 years in the aviation industry and retired from Boeing Aircraft as a builder.
In the 80's he became Worshipful Master of the Gene Autry Catoosa Masonic Lodge #185. He continued his life of service as Chairman of Water Board District 9 and was the Volunteer Toppers Fire Chief and fireman.
Jim was dearly loved by the people in his community as well as the many stray animals he loved and shared his home with.
He is remembered for teaching his sons the value of family first and integrity.
