Dr. Jimmie Wayne Taylor, the son of J.W. and Lila Mae (Jennings) Taylor, was born December 15, 1940 in Morton, Texas and went to be with Jesus at the age of 79 years on January 2, 2020 at his home in Park Hill, Oklahoma surrounded by his loving family.

Dr. Taylor married the love of his life, Miss Bonnie May Mathis, on May 30, 1963 and joined the Navy. After being transferred to support the Marines and going through Marine Boot Camp, he was sent to Vietnam where he served two tours of duty as a Corpsman. He attained the rank of Lt. Col at the time of his final discharge. He graduated from OU Medical School in 1973 and served his internship at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City before moving to Stilwell in 1974 to open his own practice. Dr. Taylor invested his life into Stilwell serving as a doctor for over 45 years. On August 31, 1954, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and began to serve the Lord in every aspect of his life from that day forward. He was an ordained deacon for over 50 years, serving the First Baptist Church of Stilwell for over 45 years. He took the skills the Lord had blessed him with into the mission fields of Malawi, Mexico, Brazil, Pakistan and Sumatra. He enjoyed serving the Lord in any capacity, and he left a legacy of faith in his six children and their families. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his sons and grandchildren. He was also a skilled carpenter and especially accomplished in furniture making and crafting the Indian Long Bow and arrows. Dr. Taylor spent a lifetime helping, teaching and spreading God's Word. He touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
