Joe Dean Adair was born June 28, 1957, to Shirley (Paden) Adair and Paul Adair in Stilwell, Oklahoma and went to be with the Lord on October 26, 2021, in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 3 months, and 28 days.
In 1982 Joe graduated from Northeastern State University with his Preparatory Education degree (B.S.), in 1986 he graduated with Honors from the University of Arkansas School of Law with his Legal Education degree, he was admitted to the Bar, and started practicing Law. He was the Municipal Court Judge in the Town of Westville, Oklahoma from 1987 – 1989, Assistant District Attorney, District 27 from 1990 – 1992, City of Stilwell Attorney from 2005 – 2015, the Adair County Bar President from 1986 – Present, a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and currently serving on the Stilwell City Council.
Joe was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was an Awana and Sunday School Teacher. He loved to read his Bible, especially with Ryker and Daxx. He enjoyed his fishing trips in Alaska, and riding motorcycles. Joe absolutely adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Shirley and Paul Adair; and one brother: Kenny Adair.
Joe is survived by his wife: Barbara Ann of the home; children: Lindsay Collins and husband Ray, Angela Adair, Jamie Catron and husband Frank all of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Michael Adair of Durango, Colorado; his siblings: Kathleen Adair of Bentonville, Arkansas, Jeff Adair, and Julie Latta both of Stilwell, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren: Ryan Collins, Kyla Kester, Jordan Collins, Kane Catron, Makenna Kester, Kinley Catron, Kara Catron, and Shia Bunch; and 2 great grandchildren: Ryker and Daxxton Carder.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Monday, November 1, 2021 at the First Baptist Church, Stilwell, OK with Bro. Scott Latta and Bro. Scott Hill officiating. Interment followed at Stilwell City Cemetery, Stilwell, OK under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
