John Copeland, Jr.

John Newton Newt Copeland, son of John and Dovie Dildine Copeland, was born on March 26, 1932 in Baron, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 8 days. John was a lifelong member of the Westville and Summers communities. He also lived and worked in Tulsa for 40 years. He was well known and liked by all who met him. John was a plumber by trade. He liked to travel while he was able. John enjoyed being surrounded by his family and being uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Dovie Copeland, sisters: Marie Copeland, Carolyn Copeland and Maybell Samuelson, brothers: Joe Copeland and Darrell Copeland. John is survived by his sister: Violet Ann Jones of Summers, AR, brothers: Roy Copeland of Summers, AR, Gilbert Copeland and wife Betty of Lincoln, AR, Homer Copeland and wife Joetta of Fayetteville, AR, Jerry Copeland and wife Shirley of Bristow, OK, sister in law: Josie Copeland wife of Joe, many nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Roberts Funeral Chapel in Westville, Oklahoma with Bro. Lester Shadrick and David Cothren officiating. Interment followed at Ganderville Cemetery, Summers, Arkansas under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
