John Carol Ruben was born on September 2, 1953 in Chula Vista, California to Carol Lloyd Ruben and Barbara Jean Ferrell and passed away on February 28, 2021 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 26 days.
John was known for his personality, he loved to laugh and joke around, he was always making people laugh. One of his passions was playing baseball, started at five years old playing little league and continued playing until he was 16 in Escondido, California, he was a natural at it! He was a left-handed pitcher, pitching no hitters in several games. Just after his 16th birthday he and his family moved to Stilwell, where he attended Stilwell High School and graduated in 1972. John enjoyed playing golf, watching OU football, fishing, NASCAR, and music, quite a fan of music, his favorite band was the Beatles, he knew every one of their songs. John was a loving and devoted dad, teaching his boys how to be good men, be honorable, and standing up for what is right. How to be kind, loving, tough, and gentle. Knowing right from wrong and be respectable of others. John retired from Fort Howard Paper Company, to enjoy his many hobbies and to especially play golf! John was a great man and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was loved by everyone and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his sons: Justin Ruben of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Brian Ruben and wife Tracy of Stilwell, Oklahoma. Grandchildren: Kaleb Ruben, McKenzie Ruben, John Lee Ruben, Kyler Ruben, Lisa Ruben all of Stilwell, Oklahoma, and Chriss and Jessica Daffern of Texarkana, Texas. Great grandchildren: Erica and Derick Jones, Zylee Gowen, Ezra Jones, Lynna Jones all of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Brandy Daffern of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Kyler Daffern, Josie Daffern, and Kyson Daffern all of Texarkana, Texas.
