Lana Sue Hawkins, daughter of George and Alice Scraper Blackwood was born January 5, 1945 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the youngest of 10 children. She departed this life on June 28, 2012 in Stilwell, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 5 months and 23 days. Lana Sue was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother to her family. She was a dedicated worker at CNI for many years, where she made numerous friends. Lana committed her downtime to family you could find her traveling all over Oklahoma and the nearby states cheering on her grandchildren in the many sports each played. She enjoyed the company of her sister, Trick, on her many adventures. She is remembered for her yummy blackberry dumplings, holiday decorations, bingo shouting, oldies stations, creek cookouts, loud cheering, pet lovin and shoe shopping, as well as being the home and favorite place for her grandkids to play hidenseek. Most notably, she will be missed for being the center of family gatherings She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Jim Hawkins, 3 brothers: Raymond, Doug and Eugene Blackwood and 2 sisters: Mae Jean McCarty and Emma Watson. Lana is survived by a very loving family that includes her children Becky Hawkins and husband Johnny Hummingbird Jr. of Stilwell, OK, Mary Singleterry and husband Lupe of Westville, OK, Jimmy Hawkins and wife Linda, Eugenia Hawkins and husband Starsky Bunch all of Stilwell, OK, 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. 1 sister: Patricia Lindsey and husband A.D. of Baron, OK, 3 brothers: Emmett Blackwood and wife Ursula of West Siloam Springs, OK, Cecil Blackwood and wife Frances of Collinsville, OK, Quannah Blackwood and wife Vicki of Zena, OK, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her. Visitation on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 24 pm. Services at 10 am on Monday, July 2, 2012 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel.
