Larry Allen Minton, son of George Allen and Augustine Eva Mason Minton, was born on February 6, 1948in Chicago, Illinois and passed from this life on Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Park Hill, Oklahoma at the age of 64 years, 11 months and 15 days. Larry was not only a Medical Doctor, but also a great musician. He started playing the accordion when he was 6 years old. When he was seven, Larry played for an audience of 10,000 people at Soldier Field in Chicago. This is when he received his first medal. He continued his learning and practice until he mastered the accordion and no one could teach him beyond. In Southern Illinois, he was on the radio and they were surprised that he could read music, but wasnt able to read to actually read. After achieving all he could with the accordion, he decided to learn to play guitar. He played in the bands: The Redhots, Valerie and the Retards. Somebody Groovy, Syntarus and Unwound He was in many plays in school and singing competitions. He married Carol Shriver in 1972 and they were blessed with 2 children: Jeffrey and Kelly and he met Connie in 2010 and married her December 26, 2012 his last wish. He was a vice president of Pharmaceutical Company. Larry then attended Chiropractic School and was going to graduate when he decided to go to Medical School. Those remaining behind to keep his memory alive is his wife: Connie Minton and step grandchildren: Brina Smith, Cherokee Smith of the home in Park Hill, OK, son: Jeffrey Minton and wife Danielle of Camp Hill, PA, daughter: Kelly Vierling and husband Donny of Springfield, MO, grandchildren: Max Oliver, Leon Minton, mother: Augustine Minton of Bellwood, IL, sisters: Nancy Ousen and husband Kris of DeKalb, IL, Karen Schreckengast and husband John of Beaufort, SC, his dog and loyal companion: Cowboy and surviving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and many friends. Celebration of Life services at 2 pm on Friday, January 25, 2013 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Rev. Lauren Welch officiating.
