Leo Ferrar Willhite, son of Leonard Jackson and Clara Bell Dickerson Willhite, was born on August 12, 1944 in Santa Fe, New Mexico and passed from this life on December 19, 2010 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 4 months and 7 days. Leo worked for the Oklahoma Forestry Department for several years. He was a farmer for many years. Leo served his country in the U. S. Navy during Vietnam. He liked going to sporting events. He never missed a Friday Night football game when his sons T.J. and Tim played. His favorite pastime was going to the Spade Mountain Store to eat, visit with friends and tell stories. Leo always enjoyed reading Louis Lamour books. Most of all, Leo loved his granddaughters, they were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents: Leonard and Clara Willhite. Leo is survived by a loving family that includes his sons: T.J. Willhite of Stilwell, OK, Tim Willhite and wife Charlotte of Allyn, WA, grandchildren: Chelsea and April Willhite of Stilwell, OK, sisters: Pattie Crow of Manteca, CA, Susan Clavier of San Pierre, IN, brother: Wesley Willhite of Fairfield, CA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. A special thank you goes out to the Potter, Ritchie, Patterson and Hume families for their care and support of Leo during his time of need. Memorial services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at RobertsReedCulver Chapel with Larry Eubanks and Velt Potter officiating. Inurnment followed at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Gibson National Cemetery, Ft. Gibson, Ok.
