Linda Colston

Linda Carol Colston, 62, of Stilwell, OK, passed away on February 4th, 2023 after fighting a long battle of illness.

Linda was born on December 10th, 1960 to Julius Stewart and Elsie Augustine (Trent) Stewart in Stilwell, OK. After Linda graduated from Stilwell High School, she went on to study nursing and obtained her LPN license among several other certifications.

In 1977, Linda met Jim and was married on November 22nd at Freewater Baptist Church. Linda and Jim spent 45 years of wedded bliss together. Their love and friendship was rich in affection and commitment. Linda and Jim went on to have three children, Victoria, Walter, and Dana.

Linda spent her time quilting and tending to her flowers. She was a beautiful soul who loved people immensely. Being able to help others was Linda’s love language. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and by no surprise, sharing her time with her grandbabies whom she loved fiercely. As a passionate animal lover, Linda also considered her Beagle Fievel be a member of her family. She shared many wonderful memories with Fievel and her absence is greatly felt by him today.

Linda was devoted to her love of Christ. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of
Freewater Baptist Church in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

Linda’s illness battle was one fought with great strength and courage. She is a mighty warrior who has left us, but her legacy will live on to shine as bright as the stars in heaven.

Those left to cherish Linda’s memory are her husband Jim Colston of the home, children; Victoria Colston of Stilwell, OK, Walter Colston & Kristen Mankiller of Tahlequah, OK, Dana Colston of Stilwell,OK.

Six grandchildren; Javen Byrd, Bonnie Byrd, Rebecca Mantooth, Deston Colston, Linda Marshall, and Jessie Colston, two great grandchildren; Sky & Ace and a host of several other family and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.
