Nadean Mayfield
Lois Nadean Convirs Mayfield, daughter of Loy Taft Convirs and Grace Bethel Lee Brown Convirs, was born on January 22, 1934 in Drumright, Oklahoma and accepted her invitation to be with Jesus at the age of 86 years 4 months and 20 days on June 11, 2020 at her home in Stilwell, Oklahoma surrounded by her loving family.
Nadean (Granny) married the love of her life John Lee (J.L) Mayfield on May 2nd 1950 in Healdsburg, Ca. To this union was born three children, Samuel Lee Mayfield, Lawanda Janay Mayfield Clinton, and Deborah Renee Mayfield Rogers.
Nadean really didn’t like to be called Lois she liked to be called Nadean or Granny, she never knew a stranger. She was kind to everybody, she just had that way with people and when she would raise that eyebrow you knew she meant business. Oh how she loved Jesus, always told people and prayed for all. She was a hard worker. She worked at Norris Industries in Riverbank, Ca. as a lathe inspector for many years. After leaving that job she worked at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, Ca. in housekeeping, where she retired and moved to Stilwell, Oklahoma in 1994. She then went back to work at what was SaveMart now Top Value with her daughter in the deli/bakery for many years. Working there she met a lot of great people. From there she went to work for Walmart as a greeter, she loved her job. She would drop everything she was doing to help someone in need, she was a golden lady, with a golden heart.
Her favorite saying was “The Truth Will Stand When The World Falls!” - and she meant it. There is not enough paper to tell about my mom, I just know that I will see her again when I get my invitation to go home.
Every night before bed, we would say this:
Debbie: I’ll see you in the morning.
Mom: If the creek don’t rise.
Debbie: I have a boat his name is Jesus, the boat’s called Hallelujah. The oars are the Holy Spirit. It floats in the blood of Jesus, all because of Jesus Christ the Son of God and his salvation for you and me. We aint no titanic. We are the church, and we aint goin down. Now what do you have?
Mom: I have a lighthouse on the hill side that overlooks life’s seas and watches everything going on, and watches out for you and me, and someday he is gonna come after you and me. Goodnight I love you.
Debbie: Goodnight mom, I love you more!
‘For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.’
